The core function of the video remote transmission wate […]
The core function of the video remote transmission water meter is to measure water consumption. Even in the absence of network, its mechanical counting part (such as the character wheel) will still operate normally to ensure data accuracy. At the same time, the built-in camera of the water meter can still capture the dial image and store the data in the local storage chip, and data will not be lost due to network problems.
Since the water meter relies on wireless communication technologies such as GPRS/NB-IoT for remote data transmission, if it is deployed in a signal blind area, the water meter will not be able to upload data to the cloud management platform in real time. However, some models have an offline cache function, which can automatically retransmit historical data after the network is restored to ensure data integrity.
Some water meters support maintenance personnel to read the stored water consumption data at close range through mobile phone APP or handheld devices, which is suitable for regular inspection scenarios. A few high-end models provide SD card or USB interface, allowing manual export of stored water consumption records for subsequent analysis. In extreme cases, you can still rely on traditional manual meter reading methods to record data by observing the mechanical dial or taking photos.
It is recommended to perform signal testing before installation and install signal enhancement equipment if necessary. Consider using LoRa self-organizing network technology, or choose a model that supports large-capacity local storage, and develop a regular manual meter reading plan.
Video remote water meters can still guarantee basic metering and short-term data storage when there is no network, but the remote monitoring function will be limited. Users can choose auxiliary meter reading solutions according to actual needs, or optimize network coverage through technical means to ensure stable operation of water meters in various environments.
